Consent Language — SMS

Purpose: Opt-in text for SMS. Capture in ConsentLog with consent_type = marketing_sms. Note TRAI DLT obligations.

1. A. Transactional SMS (service-essential — e.g., OTP, booking confirmations)#

By providing your mobile number and using the Services, you agree to receive transactional SMS necessary to operate your account and registrations (such as OTPs and booking confirmations). Standard carrier charges may apply.

(Transactional SMS is service-essential and does not require separate marketing consent, but must be sent via a DLT-registered transactional route.)

2. B. Promotional/Marketing SMS (opt-in, UNTICKED by default)#

Record as: consent_type = marketing_sms, granted = true.

3. Implementation & compliance notes (TRAI)#

• DLT registration is mandatory. Register the sender (principal entity), headers/sender IDs, and message templates on a TRAI-approved DLT platform before sending any SMS in India.
• Keep transactional and promotional message categories and routes strictly separate.
• Promotional SMS must respect DND preferences and be sent only to opted-in numbers, within permitted hours.
• Provide a clear opt-out (e.g., "reply STOP") and honour it promptly; record withdrawals.
• Your current SMS provider is Fast2SMS — ensure your DLT template IDs are configured before enabling SMS.
